The Queensland State Archives has a free exhibition titled ‘Birdcage of the Bay: St Helena Island Prison’ running until 12 October 2019. Explore a virtual reality recreation of the St Helena Prison stockade, discover original artefacts from the island, or try and solve the life-size prison doors puzzle. Read more

Stop motion studio
On Tuesday 25 September 2019 a ‘Stop Motion’ drop-in workshop will operate to teach the basics of stop motion animation. Ipswich-based print and digital artist Bec Lewis will take you on a journey of storytelling and instruct you on how to create your own stop-motion film. Read more

Brisbane Open House
Go behind the scenes where nearly 200 years of Queensland history is kept. As part of Brisbane Open House, QSA is offering free hourly tours on Saturday 12 October 2019. Starting from the exhibition space, guests will be guided through the repositories, conservation laboratory and digital scanning facilities. Read more
