Aboriginal elder Darby McCarthy and Dr Mark Copland, an alumnus of Griffith university, discuss the creation story of Mee-wah or Table Top Mountain near Toowoomba with Belinda Sanders (ABC Southern Queensland). The legend of its flat top is the centre of a tourism project by the Toowoomba Regional Council’s Heritage Advisory Committee. Table Top Mountain,¬†also known as One Tree Hill, was the stronghold from which Multuggerah and his Aboriginal warriors attacked and defeated European settlers in 1843.
