About
The activities of the German missionaries at and about Zion Hill have received ongoing historical attention. From H. J. J. Sparks, to Neil Gunson and, most recently, Libby Connors and Regina Ganter, acknowledgement of the significance of the missionaries’ presence has been consistent. This project seeks to further open the sources for this period. Offering transcriptions of sources, maps of the region and its surrounds, and adding editorial comments to these as far as possible, this project seeks to further open a tableau of the rich texture of the place, Indigenous and colonial, as well as their dynamic mixing, and so stimulate further research.
